Maine Coon Cat's Clever Way of Waking Up Mom Quickly Goes Viral

If you have a cat then you know taking care of them is a whole journey. Cats...well, they aren't exactly interested in behaving or listening to their owner. In fact, they probably think their owners work for them. So we guess one woman shouldn't have been surprised when she was awoken one morning to her Maine Coon cat causing a ruckus in the kitchen.

As much as she loves her cat Thor, we have to imagine this was one of those moments when the woman really wondered why she'd ever gotten a cat.

The mom herself admitted that she thought it was her kids that woke her up that morning. But nope. It was Thor messing about in the kitchen.

The hilarious clip shows the mama walking in to the kitchen only to find Thor standing next to the sink. It looks like someone was playing with the tap.

"What are you doing?" the mom asked. "That's hot water."

Thor couldn't look his mama in the eye. Uh oh! Busted. By the looks of it, the water had been running for quite a while too. In the caption, the mom said she thought one of her kids was "having the ultimate p—s."

"Wondering why it wasn't stopping I got out of bed, only to realize The Professor wanted to take a bath in the sink at 1:38 am," she added.

No one said having a Maine Coon cat would be easy.

How Smart Are Maine Coon Cats?

What happened to this woman shouldn't be a surprise to most Maine Coon owners. These guys are pretty smart! Well, they're not the smartest cats out there, but they are definitely smarter than the average household cat.

Of course, Maine Coon Cats will having varying degrees of intelligence. Just like other animals, some are smarter than others.

Interestingly, how much time a cat spent with its mother can impact how smart they are. Even more strange, many times Maine Coon Cats are considered intelligent when they show more "canine" traits. Yep, cats are sort of only considered smart when they seem like dogs.

Need some proof? One of the reasons that people believe Maine Coons are smarter than the average cat is the fact that they can do tricks. They can also walk on a leash for walks and like water. Hmmm, sounds like dog stuff to us.

Either way, a Maine Coon Cat can be the perfect addition to your family. While they might get into a bit of trouble, they're emotionally intelligent animals and make excellent pets.
