Maddie Marlow Has a Message for People Who Hate on Public Breastfeeding & Bless Their Little Hearts

In case you didn’t know, breasts are made for breastfeeding — that’s literally their intended purpose. And sure, no one has to breastfeed. But if a mom chooses to feed their child like this, and you decide to sexualize or disparage her for doing it in public the way nature intended, then well, bless your heart, sweetie. (If you aren’t from the south, that basically means “f you.”) Maddie Marlow, one half of country duo Maddie & Tae, has an important message for people who don’t like public breastfeeding, and we are so here for it.

The “Heart They Didn’t Break” singer, who welcomed her first baby with husband Jonah Font in September, posted a new photo of herself breastfeeding her son Forrest. In the picture-of-a-Polaroid, Marlow is half dressed for her concert and wearing just a nursing bra on top. She is holding her 7-month-old baby and breastfeeding while standing up in her dressing room. If you’ve ever tried to breastfeed standing up — with no wraps to help! — then you know how incredibly difficult this is. She’s one strong mama!

In the picture, baby Forrest wears pajama pants and a little gray hoodie, as he reaches up with one hand to hold onto his mom’s necklace while he eats. She is looking down, gazing at her little boy, and the intimate photo is so beautiful. However, because Marlow is no stranger to haters, she preemptively shared a message for anyone who might not like this totally natural, completely sweet photo of a mother and her baby.

“Pre show vibes these days 🌟,” she wrote in the caption. “p.s if this photo offends you, remember you drank from a boob once too 😘.”

The kissy-heart emoji at the end is giving complete “bless your heart” vibes, which is no surprise given that Marlow is a Texas native like I am. People need to just keep their unwanted opinions to themselves, and if you can’t, you’re forced to think about breastfeeding from your own mom’s breast as punishment. (Yeah, not a pretty picture, is it?)

People in the comments were very supportive. “Super mom!!!🌟🤩💛” one person wrote. Someone else said, “LOVE THIS LOVE YOU AND THAT BOY!!!🩵🩵🩵🩵”

“🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Bad ass mom” another commented. We couldn’t agree more!

Last month, the country singer shared an infuriating story of getting stopped by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at the airport. “TSA treats nursing moms like criminals haha” the “Friends Don’t” singer wrote over a picture of a TSA agent holding bags of breastmilk.

“I’m so saddened by TSA and their lack of protocol for a mom traveling with her breastmilk,” Marlow continued. “I had to stand here for 20 minutes while he ‘inspected’ my food for my baby and the man was about to open one of my bags to test it until I demanded he not contaminate the milk for my baby.”

“TSA please do better for moms just trying to feed their babies,” she added. Can we get an amen, y’all? Breastfeeding moms (and women in general) deserve to be treated better all around, and we love Marlow for sticking up for us!

Feeding little ones isn’t a one-size-fits-all journey, and these celebrity moms are advocating for extended breastfeeding.
