I’m Stocking Up on the Expensive-Looking Shorts I Wore on Repeat in Curaçao

It was such a treat back in January to bust out my summer clothes for a quick trip to Curaçao. It was also a reminder that once warmer weather came around, there’d be quite a bit of shopping I needed to do; my closet was in desperate need of easy maxi dresses, breezy pants, T-shirts and tanks, and most importantly — shorts. But with this trip, I was able to shop for a couple of pieces ahead of the seasonal shift, which is how I fell in love with a pair of trouser shorts from Hotouch. The high quality shorts are the perfect length and currently on sale for $27 on Amazon, making it the perfect time to stock up. 

The Hotouch shorts come in 20 colors, including red, black, tan, white, pink, navy, and gray, and sizes XS to 3XL. Made from a polyester-blend material that’s lightweight and not sheer, they have a high-waisted design, hem that hangs a few inches above the knee (depending on your height), and more tailored fit at the waist that flows outward for a breezier fit. The shorts also have two spacious side seam pockets, a classic button and zipper closure, belt loops, and elastic along the back waistband for a comfortable fit.

I know bermuda-style shorts can be a bit polarizing, but the length and cut of these shorts is so timeless; they stop a few inches short of my knees and don’t cling or chafe my inner thighs. I love that they have spacious pockets that can fit my larger iPhone and wallet, fit true to the size dimensions on the site, and offer a bit more give around the stomach thanks to the elastic waist. Plus, the traditional closure at the front makes them look more expensive than they are, and they have belt loops, which I find many other styles don’t have. 

I own the shorts in white, red, and navy, and the shades are true to what's shown online. Additionally, they haven’t faded even with wearing them to the beach and laundering. Fresh out of the mail they were a bit wrinkled, but after laundering and air drying, they didn’t shrink and were wrinkle-free through packing, lounging, and walking. I paired these shorts with a tank top and sweater draped over my shoulders, as well as my go-to Adidas Sambas topped off with a baseball cap for my entire vacation.
