I know it’s still technically spring, but it hit 85 degrees here in Maryland this week. I, unfortunately, didn’t realize there would be a spike in the temperature until I was out walking my dog in sweatpants and a teddy jacket. I finally decided to move all my winter clothes to storage and dust off my go-to summer T-shirts, tank tops, linen pants, and shorts. I love layering so I usually prefer fall and winter dressing, but last year, I made it a point to put more effort into my summer wardrobe. One of my favorite pieces that made for a great base layer for many of my summer outfits was this Artfish Tank Top on Amazon. I liked it so much, in fact, I bought it in four different colors.

The tank top comes in 38 colors, black, blue, brown, beige, and white, and sizes range from XS to L. It features thin overlapping straps, and it’s made from a thick material that prevents it from looking sheer in lighter shades. The fit is close to the body with a length that stops at the hip, the fabric is a stretchy rib, and it has a scooped neckline in the front and back.

Being a former tank top designer, I’m super critical of the tank tops that I buy. I look for the thickness of the material and the straps, the cut of the neckline, the length, and the scoop of the armholes. So upon a quick scan of the Artfish tank top listing, it looked flattering on the model and all the details I looked for were up to standard to something I would buy.

After receiving IRL, I was impressed by how thick the fabric was while still feeling lightweight and breathable. It wasn’t sheer, even in the lighter colors in direct sunlight, and the straps had just the right amount of thickness so they didn’t dig into my shoulders but weren’t so thick that they felt bulky. Its neckline is scooped perfectly and the length is ideal for tucking or scrunching so it looks more cropped.

I mainly added this tank top to my cart because I needed a quality tank top that could be easily styled. I’ve been able to make a wide variety of outfits with this, including styling it with my boxer shorts with my Adidas Sambas for casual everyday wear, under a button-up shirt with linen pants, and even with a matching skirt or pants to give that elevated matching set feel.
