Looking to take a dip this weekend? These Athens pools will be open through Memorial Day.

With temperatures expected to reach the upper 80s and low 90s, people in the Athens community will no doubt be looking for ways to cool off on Memorial Day Weekend. Though Athens-Clarke County pools are usually closed for maintenance on Mondays, they will remain open for the long Memorial Day weekend.

The Banner-Herald has put together a list of Athens area parks that are scheduled to have their pools open and available for public use through the end of the season on Sunday, July 28. Bishop Park's pool is closed for construction for the 2024 season, and the Walker Park Splash Pad is only open on weekends in August.

Memorial Park Pool

  • LOCATION: 293 Gran Ellen Dr. ($1 admission per person; cash only)

  • REGULAR HOURS: 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, noon to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.

  • MEMORIAL DAY HOURS: 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; all other park facilities will be closed.

Heard Park Pool

  • LOCATION: 400 McKinley Dr. ($1 admission per person; cash only)

  • REGULAR HOURS: 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, noon to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.

  • MEMORIAL DAY HOURS: 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; all other park facilities will be closed.

Lay Park Pool

  • LOCATION: 297 Hoyt St. ($1 admission per person; cash only)

  • REGULAR HOURS: 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, noon to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.

  • MEMORIAL DAY HOURS: 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; all other park facilities will be closed.

Rocksprings Park Pool and Splash Pad

  • LOCATION: 291 Henderson Ext. ($1 admission per person; cash only)

  • REGULAR HOURS: 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, noon to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.

  • MEMORIAL DAY HOURS: 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; all other park facilities will be closed.
