Lizzo is continuing her public plea for people to stop commenting on celebrities's bodies.

The topic isn't new to the "About Damn Time" singer, who has spoken at length about the criticism that she's faced on social media and elsewhere when it comes to her body. But at the start of the new year, she felt people needed a reminder as she stated, "The discourse around bodies is officially tired," in a video she posted to Instagram on Friday.

"I have seen comments go from, 'Oh my gosh, I liked you when you were thick, why'd you lose weight?' to, 'Oh my gosh, why’d you get a BBL? I liked your body before,' to, 'Oh my gosh, you’re so big. You need to lose weight, but for your health,' to, 'Oh my gosh, you're so little, you need to get ass or titties or something,' to, 'Oh my gosh, why did she get all that work done? It's just too much work,'" the 34-year-old singer listed, noting the various and often contradicting standards that onlookers are putting onto public figures. "Are we OK? Do you see the delusion?"

It isn't the first time that Lizzo has expressed her desire that people stop defining her by her body. "It's exhausting,” she told Essence magazine in Nov. 2021. "And that's the point. I don't want to talk about this anymore. We should be neutral about bodies."

As the conversation in her comments section — along with those of countless other celebrities — continues, she doubled down on her previous sentiment.

"Do we realize that artists are not here to fit into your beauty standards? Artists are here to make art. And this body is art. And I'm gonna do whatever I want with this body," Lizzo said.

She also suggested that haters should have to pay to leave a comment "so we could see how much time we are f***ing wasting on the wrong thing."
