Lindsay Lohan Confirms 'Freaky Friday' Sequel With Jamie Lee Curtis Is on Its Way

Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis graced the silver screen as an at-odds mother-daughter duo in 2003's Freaky Friday. Now, more than 20 years later, Lohan confirmed a sequel with Curtis is on the way.

On Monday, March 4, the Mean Girls star let the cat out of the bag during an interview on SiriusXM's Andy Cohen Live. Host Andy Cohen asked, "Lindsay, there are rumors that a Freaky Friday sequel with you and Jamie Lee Curtis could be in the works. Is there anything you could tell us about that?"

"It is. Yeah," the 37-year-old actress replied.

When asked about the timeline, Lohan hesitated before sharing. "I won't say that yet. I don't want to say too much."

Lohan added: "And we're both excited. I'm gonna speak for Jamie."

In May 2003, Lohan and Curtis discussed the possibility of a Freaky Friday sequel with The New York Times in honor of the 20th anniversary of the film.

"As I went around the world with Halloween Ends, people wanted to know if there was going to be another Freaky Friday. Something really touched a chord," Curtis told the publication. "When I came back, I called my friends at Disney and said, 'It feels like there’s a movie to be made.'"

Meanwhile, Lohan admitted, "Jamie and I are both open to that. So we're leaving it in the hands that be."

The actresses reunited for a photo in November 2023—and at the time, fans hoped they were teasing an upcoming collab. "Too late. YOU GREW UP and SO BEAUTIFULLY!" Curtis captioned the Instagram post. "Well, it's Friday, and the strike is over so hopefully, we can switch places again in the near future!"
