Lily Bradley Will Not Be Participating In Freeride World Tour Finals

Lily Bradley announced to Instagram yesterday that they will not be competing in the Freeride World Tour finals due to tearing their other MCL free skiing at Pitzdel, Austria a few days ago.

At only 21 years old, Bradley is one of the youngest competitors on tour this year. Bradley is also a Lake Tahoe native and won the Americas Freeride World Qualifier in 2021.

As a rookie on the Tour in 2022, Lily saw two podium finishes, including a 3rd place in Ordino-Arcalis, Andorra, and 1st place in Kicking Horse, BC Canada.

Luckily, even though this injury drastically alters the end of Lily's season, Bradley reported that it is a small tear. Their recovery time is predicted to be around 4-6 weeks with no surgery required.

However, even minor MCL tears require a period of rest, icing the injury, and avoiding weight on that knee, and this requires staying off snow.

Bradley explained how she tore her MCL, writing, "I was going for a little three at the end of a blower day with Hedvig Wessel when I fell over and felt my left knee pop."

Hedvig being on scene ended up being a positive for Lily, as Lily wrote, "I was so worried about going through another year of surgery but Hedvig was able to help me get an MRI immediately and turns out it’s just a slight MCL tear! Woohooo!"

Bradley ended her post by thanking everyone who supported her this season, including Andrew Pollard, Elisabeth Gerritzen, Molly Armanino, Hedvig Wessel, and their Grandpa for being their number 1 fan.

"Cheers to a great season, see ya’ll next year."
