Lafayette boy with cancer earns a trip to Disney World
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — Seven-year-old Finn Zablocki, a Disney classics fan, has dealt with cancer for the last seventeen months, but is now getting the send-off of a lifetime by being able to visit all of his favorite Disney parks.
Halliburton and the Make-A-Wish Foundation held a ceremony for Finn and his family, who will head to Disney World next month. Members of the Make-A-Wish Foundation say Finn is one in over 300,000 kids that have had a life changing wish in the United States.
Throughout the past year, Finn has been resilient during his battle with cancer. Finn’s father says it feels like a dream for the whole family to experience the magic of Disney World.
“Past two years, so many of our holidays were spent in the hospital and he was just in the hospital bed. Halloween, Christmas, birthdays to go from that to being able to just go have a blast in Disney World, its surreal almost,” said Finn’s father.
Finn and his family will head to Orlando on May 1.
