We know now when the newest Capital Grille prime steakhouse will open near DFW airport

The newest Tarrant County location of the Florida-based Capital Grille restaurants will open May 20 in Southlake.

The restaurant will be the first new prime steakhouse in Southlake in more than a decade and the only one to serve a weekday fine-dining lunch.

It’s The Capital Grille’s seventh Texas location and 68th nationwide. The 10,815-square-foot restaurant, lounge and patio will seat 173 diners.

The location is in Carroll Pointe at 1201 Texas 114 East, along North Carroll Avenue west of Southlake Town Square. In normal traffic, it’s a 10-minute drive from DFW Airport.

The Capital Grille’s downtown Fort Worth location, 800 Main St., opened in 2012. It has become the city’s busiest prime steakhouse and usually books up early for major holidays.

The Southlake location’s first major holiday will be Father’s Day. The restaurant will open from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The restaurants are part of the Darden Restaurants corporate empire, including an Eddie V’s Prime Seafood that opened in Fort Worth in 2008.

The same company operates restaurants including Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, LongHorn Steakhouse and Olive Garden. The company also owns Ruth’s Chris Steak House, which has a location in Fort Worth directly across the street from The Capital Grille.

A parking dispute temporarily held up the agreement between Capital Grille Holdings and Southlake, the Star-Telegram previously reported. The disagreement was over 20 parking spaces with neighboring restaurant Calabrese.
