Yoo-hoo, big news…the Frozen franchise is growing! While the third installment of Frozen has yet to be released, Bob Iger, chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company, has revealed that there might be a fourth film in development.
"Frozen 3 is in the works and there might be a Frozen 4 in the works, too. But, I don't have much to say about those films right now,” Iger, who was in Hong Kong Disneyland for the "World of Frozen" celebration, told Good Morning America on Nov. 16, 2023.
At the "World of Frozen" celebration ceremony, the Disney CEO called the franchise "one of the most successful in Disney history." Iger said, "It’s a testament to the power of great storytelling, which is the foundation of The Walt Disney Company. It’s been this way for 100 years, and our commitment to storytelling and creativity will continue to define our next 100.”

Will there be a Frozen 4 movie?
Disney has not officially announced a fourth Frozen movie but CEO Bob Iger shared forward-looking comments about multiple future installments to blockbuster franchise.
In November 2023, Iger said, “[Jennifer] Lee, who created Frozen, the original Frozen and Frozen 2, is hard at work with her team at Disney Animation on not one, but actually two stories."
When is the Frozen 4 release date?
In the words of Anna and Elsa, it's agony to wait, but Frozen 4 wouldn't come out until after Frozen 3, which does not have a release date yet. Variety reported in October 2023 that the third movie was "in early stages."
Who is in the Frozen 4 cast?
Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad have voiced their beloved characters, Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf, respectively, since the first movie, so it seems likely that they would return for a fourth film.
Menzel previously revealed to Billboard that she will be returning for Frozen 3. Meanwhile, Bell has told Jimmy Fallon that they are "all in" for the movie.

What is Frozen 4 about?
Iger did not go into detail about what the fourth or third movie would be about. Speaking to Billboard in 2023, Menzel admitted that she didn't know a lot about Frozen 3. "To be completely honest, they teased it to us, and I have no idea. They don't show you a script," she shared. "They don't show you anything. All I know is, yeah we're gonna make one, and that's it."
Frozen creator Jennifer Lee, who is the chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios, has said (via Variety) when it comes to making another movie in the franchise, their philosophy is, "If there is more story to tell, the filmmakers have to drive it. And I’ll say with Frozen, Marc Smith, who was our director of story on Frozen 2, came with an incredible idea for more Frozen, and it’s worth it.”
Is Frozen 4 streaming?
Frozen 4 hasn't even officially been announced. But as part of the Disney family, expect it to stream on Disney+ when it is released for VOD.
