Kim Kardashian Laces Into Balenciaga Sneakers and Son Saint West Pops in Nike Kobe ‘Grinch’ Shoes

Kim Kardashian and her son Saint West chose eye-catching shoe styles for their latest outing. The mother-son duo was seen in Calabasas, Calif., on Friday, arriving at West’s basketball game. Kardashian wore a pair of Balenciaga‘s 3XL sneakers while West laced into Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Grinch” shoes.

Kardashian and Balenciaga have a longtime relationship. The reality show star is often credited for making the brand’s sock shoes and pantaboots a hit. In January, Kardashian was announced as an official ambassador of Balenciaga.

“For me, this long-standing relationship is built on mutual trust and a commitment to doing what’s right. I’m excited about this next chapter for the brand and to become their ambassador,” Kardashian said on Instagram about the partnership with Balenciaga.

Kardashian also used her Instagram in February to celebrate her son’s achievements in his basketball team. She announced West was selected to his school’s All Star team this year.

West is a sports fan and he is often seen wearing Nike shoes, like the “Grinch” pair, while playing basketball and soccer.

Balenciaga 3XL Sneakers

Balenciaga’s 3XL sneakers were released last year. The $1,150 style features an exaggerated silhouette inspired by a classic running shoe with an ultra-wide sole and extra lace tied around the shoe for aesthetic purposes.

Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Grinch” Shoes

Originally released in 2010, the shoes worn by Saint West were made available again in 2020. The shoes featured reptile-inspired uppers in lime green. Koby Bryant wore the sneakers on the Staples Center court against the Miami Heat team that featured fellow Nike athlete LeBron James.

In September 2023, Nike released the “Reverse Grinch” colorway, which features crimson uppers with a black Swoosh.
