Kid Surf Coach Kelly Slater Hosts Family Day at Surf Ranch

For Kelly Slater and his girlfriend, Kalani Miller, "family day" means something a little different than it does for most people.
Forget the traditional backyard barbecue cooking hotdogs and talking about football. Just grab a few friends and head to the world champ's personal wave pool, aka the Surf Ranch, to surf perfect waves all day long.
And in Miller's latest social media post, we see that's exactly what the couple decided to do.
Miller captioned the post above:
"Family day at Surf Ranch! What a special few days with some of my most loved people (missing a few!!) to celebrate all things good in life.
"My favorite thing about spending time up there is how happy everyone is… seriously look at how big everyone’s smiles are.
"I’m always grateful for my time there and it was so beyond fun to spend time in the warm water, share a delicious meal with friends that are like family, trading off waves and laughs, and being surrounded by the incredible team/staff at Surf Ranch. In Miller's post, we see the long-time couple hosted an eclectic variety of friends and family at the ranch.
The group included Miller's siblings and parents, former pro surfer Benji Weatherley, mixed martial artist Marlon "Chito" Vera, and a few others.
The star of the day was a 10-year-old girl named Harper celebrating her birthday with a surf lesson from Uncle Kelly.
In the last slide, Harper and Slater go tandem on a perfect lefthand wave. He paddles them into it, helps her up, and then rides the wave till the end.
She'll definitely be winning the best back-to-school story.
Weatherley also took to social media to show his stoke, reposting Miller's and writing:
