KCSOS STEAM: How to combat learning loss

BAKERSFIELD, Calif., (KGET) — Kern County Superintendent of Schools, Justin Janssen, KCSOS Program Specialist STEAM, introduces a new and fun summer activities for kids at 17 News Sunrise.

Lifelong learners are what Janssen hopes to nurture with the Olympic themed STEAM summer camp.

North of the River to offer mind nurturing summer programs

From having computer science activities such as a coding program called Scratch Jr., STEAM activities, and Olympics activities which involve building an archery set and painting Paris with watercolor paint. Janssen encourages parents to bring their children on this learning path.

As the program specialist said, “not all learning has to be structured. Give our kids time to figure out what to do on their own.”
