Kayla Itsines, Australian personal trainer and co-creator of the Bikini Body Guides (BBG) workout program, knows firsthand the transformative power of exercise — not just because moving your body can make you stronger, but more importantly, because it also makes you feel good.

But not everyone can or wants to workout at a gym — particularly during the coronavirus pandemic. With that in mind, Itsines has put together a 5-Day Workout Challenge for Yahoo Life readers that can be done right at home. Don’t have any weights sitting around? No problem. All of the workouts are designed to be done without any equipment.

As Itsines tells Yahoo Life: “You don’t need to be in a gym to get a great workout in.” Even better news: Itsines is offering an exclusive reward for Yahoo Life readers!

To have a detailed program which is adjusted to your level and steps up week by week, that definitely makes the difference.Allison Forstin, BBG program enthusiast

For Day 4 of the challenge, Itsines created a workout that will boost your confidence and make you stronger by challenging your body. “Push yourself out of your comfort zone,” says Itsines. And you’ll be doing just that with today’s 10-minute, no-equipment workout.

Exclusive reward for Yahoo Life readers: Get a free 1-month trial and a 3-month SWEAT membership for just $39 (usual price is $56), or a 6-month membership for $58.79 (usual price is $83.99.)

Now let’s get moving!

Watch the workout at the top of this article — and don’t forget to check back for tomorrow’s exercise routine.

Day 4’s workout features 6 exercises performed for 30 seconds each. You’ll do three sets, resting for 30 seconds between each set. The workout includes mountain climbers, bridges, lunges, push-ups, and planks. These moves will improve the strength of your stabilizing muscles in your abs and shoulders, while targeting your lower body and upper body.

BBG Success Story: Allison Forstin

Allison Forstin's story will sound familiar to anyone who has ever started a workout routine and then fallen off the bandwagon — only to climb back on again. Forstin, who lives in Paris, had been following Itsines’s workouts since December 2017. But when she landed a new job in July 2019, she gave up her exercise routine “little by little until a complete stop,” Forstin tells Yahoo Life. She couldn’t find a “good mix” between work, her personal life, and sports and “certainly because of my lack of motivation.”

Within eight months, Forstin says she gained more than 20 pounds. But when France, like many countries, announced the lockdown in March, she knew it was her chance to get back on track, calling it the “perfect momentum to start the BBG program again.” Forstin says she hasn’t missed a workout since.

Along with losing the extra weight she’d put on, Forstin says that, more importantly, “I feel so strong now!”

Forstin says that Itsines’s workout programs have made all of the difference. “Before the program, I was trying to workout by myself without any structure, and the result did not turn out great,” she says. “So I lost patience and gave up. To have a detailed program which is adjusted to your level and steps up week by week, that definitely makes the difference.”
