'Just in Time' for Easter! Laura Osnes Moves from Broadway to the Small Screen

Trust the timing. I believe that things happen for a reason and when it happens is just important as what is happening. In Great American Family's newest original movie, Just in Time, a couple struggles with starting a family of their own. As their marriage seems to be crumbling around them, the patience of God's love is what they need, and they soon find it through a lost engraved watch with details that are seemingly important, only to them.

Here's everything we know about Just in Time including a Parade exclusive interview with Laura Osnes.

What is Just in Time about?

In Just in Time, Hannah (Osnes) and her husband, Rowan (Greyston Holt) have focused all their time, energy and attention into trying to have a baby. The pressure to complete their family starts weighing heavily on their relationship. The couple is left questioning if having a child is the right thing to do and if they are still right for one another. When Hannah receives a call from a stranger, named Franklin (Peter Bryant), who claims to have discovered an antique on the beach bearing an inscription unique to Hannah and Rowan, she reluctantly agrees to meet him to look. Franklin is certain the watch is a long-lost heirloom from Hannah’s family. In the end, Franklin’s patient approach helps Hannah see that the answers to all she seeks will be revealed in God’s time.

In an exclusive to Parade, Osnes told us one of her favorite scenes and sets to work on in Just in Time. "I really loved filming in Hannah's greenhouse. The set was so beautiful, with all the real plants, fruits, vegetables and bright colors! That's my character's happy place, and our crew did an amazing job at bringing the greenhouse to life so realistically," said Osnes.

The movie, which has several faith and family-based storylines, is the type of content upstart network Great American Family looks showcase. Osnes is all for it. "I get excited about seeing faith represented on screen. So many shows on TV these days can leave an icky feeling after watching. Or it's content I would never want my young nephews to see. I know I can trust the films on GAF to provide clean, redemptive, family-friendly content that leaves me smiling and spreads hope to families across the country," she said.

Meet the cast of Just in Time

Laura Osnes (Hanna)

Primarily a stage actress, Osnes has led the cast of several Broadway shows including Grease, Bonnie and Clyde, South Pacific and Anything Goes. Last year she starred in A Dash of Christmas for Great American Family. In previous years, she has starred in such films Christmas in Tahoe, One Royal Holiday and Raise a Glass to Love.

Osnes counts Proverbs 3:5-6 as one of her life's verses. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. In regard to the verse, Osnes said, "God has proven His faithfulness time and time again in my life, especially when I'm facing the unknown... which is never an easy place to be! I'm constantly comforted knowing He will always lead me on a straight path, as I continue to trust and surrender to Him."

Fun fact: Two of Osnes' dream roles are Marian Paroo in The Music Man or Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady.

Greyston Holt (Rowan)

Holt has work steadily in the industry starting off with roles in shows like Smallville, The 4400 and Flash Gordon and graduating to leading roles in TV movies like A Very Country Christmas, Cross Country Christmas and A Wedding to Remember.

Peter Bryant (Franklin)

Bryant has appeared in over 150 films and television series including Fire Country, Tracker and Family Law. The Australian-born Bryant has also appeared on such hit television shows as The X-Files, Riverdale and The Good Doctor.

Just in Time premieres on Tuesday, Mar. 26 at 8 p.m. ET on Great American Family.
