We love seeing mother-daughter duos in every field, whether it be acting or modeling, airplane pilots, or even children’s book authors. One of the coolest mother-daughter duos we’ve heard of in quite some time definitely has to be Julie Andrews and her daughter Emma Walton Hamilton, who have worked together to create beloved children’s books.

In a recent interview with Today, talking about their upcoming children’s book entitled Waiting in the Wings, which comes out on April 23, they discussed their love for creating and how their love for writing started.

Andrews revealed that she loved reading to her kids when they were young, saying, “To see them all gathered around and looking forward to hearing a book, especially one that we’re all passionate about; that is such a joy as a mum.”

And when Hamilton was a child, they “made books together as mum and daughter for Emma to take to her dad who was in New York…it brought us all together as a family.”

Along with this new book, they’ve worked on The Very Fairy Princess series, The First Notes, the Little Bo in Italy series, and Dumpy at School, to name a few. And we truly cant wait to see more from this iconic duo.

For those who don’t know, Andrews has five children total. She shares one daughter named Emma, born in Nov 1962, with her ex-husband Tony Walton. She and her late husband Blake Edwards have a blended family: with her being the stepmother to his two children Jennifer and Geoffrey. They also adopted two daughters named Amelia, born in 1974, and Joanna Lynne, born in 1975.
