If you watched Apple TV +’s The Last Thing He Told Me (you know, the one starring Jennifer Garner) but wished there were more to the story, then we have some exciting news to share: The thriller series, which is based on the best-selling novel by Laura Dave, is coming back for a season two.

In celebration of the show’s renewal, Garner, 51, shared the news with her followers on Instagram. The first slide of her photo slideshow features a screenshot of a Deadline article confirming the season two announcement and the headline reads, “The Last Thing He Told Me Renewed for Season 2 By Apple TV+.”

Meanwhile, the rest of the post includes not one, but two BTS pics of Garner on set filming the show.

In the caption, the actress wrote, “I’m dying to [star emoji] know [star emoji] what [star emoji] happens [star emoji] to Hannah and Bailey. Thank you for ordering another season of #TheLastThingHeToldMe, @appletv. ([kissy face @lauradaveauthor @jsinger10 @laurenneu @reesewitherspoon @hellosunshine @reesesbookclub).”

In the comments section, Garner’s fans were quite excited about the show’s renewal. One person wrote, “The hold this show has on me! Cannot wait for more!” Another follower shared the sentiment, writing, “Yes!!! Season 2!!”

Deadline also reported that a sequel novel to The Last Thing He Told Me is expected to be released sometime in 2025—ahead of the season two premiere of the Apple TV+ series.

The Last Thing He Told Me follows a woman named Hannah Hall (Garner), whose husband suddenly goes missing. In order to uncover the truth behind his disappearance, Hannah teams up with her teenage stepdaughter, Bailey (Angourie Rice), to find answers.

In this editor’s (Karelle) honest review of the series, I applaud Garner’s powerful performance as Hannah. “While Hannah is grappling with her husband’s disappearance, we can feel everything she’s feeling as a concerned wife, and it’s all thanks to the 13 Going on 30 star’s ability to convey her character’s conflicting emotions in a way that’s simply unforgettable,” I wrote.

Saying we’re excited for a second season would be an understatement.
