My children would tell you that the best thing about my job as food editor is that we get to try new treats—cookies, crackers, sodas, potato chips, and other goodies that would make any kid's eyes turn heart-shaped. Staying informed about new groceries and food trends is part of my job. So this past week, my family (two adults and three kids, ages six, nine, and 11) got to try silky-smooth pudding treats that you can now find at your local grocery store.

Jell-O just announced that for the first time in over five years, it's coming out with two new pudding flavors: Churro Delicioso and Mango Sabroso. We got to try both and here's what we thought about them:

Jell-O Churro Delicioso: This ultra-creamy pudding tastes like cinnamon and mildly like chocolate. It's inspired by churros, Spanish fried dough coated with cinnamon sugar, and my nine-year-old son's favorite dessert. After school, he made a beeline to the fridge in search of Jell-O Churro Delicioso. Lucky for him, there was one cup left after our tasting. He licked the cup clean and asked if we could buy more. He's a fan. If you enjoy sweet cinnamon-flavored treats, you'll like it too.

Jell-O Mango Sabroso: This is Jell-O's first fruit-based pudding in its 130-year history. My kids were most excited about trying it because they love mango, but they agreed that this pudding tastes like tropical-flavored Hi-Chew candy. It doesn't taste at all like mango. This is a win in their books, but not for the adults.

You can now find both pudding flavors in grocery stores nationwide. They come in four-cup packs that must be kept refrigerated before and after opening. I plan to send a cup of Churro Delicioso (with an ice pack) to school with my son as a special treat.
