Last month, the Minecraft movie locked in its cast, but it has now been revealed that an exciting new addition will join Jason Momoa, Sebastian Eugene Hansen and Danielle Brooks.

Jack Black took to his Instagram to share a photo of him reading Minecraft Basics, with the caption "An actor prepares".

He didn't reveal who he would be playing, but Deadline shared in their exclusive that they hear he'll take on the role of Steve.

Momoa was initially reported to be taking on the character, but IMDb now lists Black as Steve, with Momoa's character unlisted.

Emma Myers is also said to appear in the film as per IMDb, but, like Momoa, her character name is also unlisted.

The film will follow the malevolent Ender Dragon, who sets out on a path of destruction, prompting a young girl and her group of unlikely adventurers to set out to save the Overworld.

Jack Black is staying busy because he is also back in the first trailer for Kung Fu Panda 4, which will be the first film in the franchise since 2016.

The Minecraft movie is said to have begun filming at the end of last month and is due to hit theaters in 2025.
