ISU art students to showcase work in Senior Show

Apr. 30—Indiana State University is conducting its annual Senior Show, which will feature work by students graduating from the Bachelor of Art and Bachelor of Fine Arts programs in the Department of Art and Design.

The Senior Show is free and open to the public 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Yang Family University Art Gallery through May 11. A reception is set for 4 to 6 p.m. May 2, where participants can meet with students showcasing their work.

It is the culmination point of a student's journey studying art at Indiana State University. The exhibition features work from areas of study including art education, art history, ceramics, digital art, drawing, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture, according to a release from the university.

Tanmaya Bingham, director of Indiana State University art galleries, said, "We are fortunate enough to be able to bring international and national professional artists to the galleries here at Indiana State University, but the exhibitions that feature work by our students are always a personal favorite of mine. When studying art and design, there are plenty of opportunities to showcase work in our galleries however this is arguably the most important as our students celebrate how far they have come during their time at Indiana State University."

Student artists exhibiting their work include Zoe Booker, Erica Bowman, Tayler Commings, Trinity Cunningham, Shanine Delph, Sydney Denny, Grae Fulford, Gaven Golish, Stella Harrison, Kaimilani Matsumoto, Megan Matyi, Tierney McDonald, Nina Mims, Dean Morton, Chase Pondel, Alexis Pyszka, Ashlyn Siples, Freya Stroven, Camille Swaner, Kelbie Thompson and Justina Yocom.
