Indianapolis Zoo Celebrates Orangutan’s 46th Birthday
Who doesn't love celebrating a birthday! As you get older they are definitely not as fun as they were when you were younger, but everybody else still enjoys celebrating your big day. The same was true at the Indianapolis Zoo recently. The zoo family got to celebrate a special day for a special guy on Friday, December 15th. Azy is one of their beloved orangutans, and he celebrated his 46th birthday and even got a birthday treat!
The Zoo said in their caption that he's handsome, majestic, and a wise old man, and I can't help but agree! The video starts with Azy holding his birthday treat and checking it out. I didn't expect him to be so delicate and careful with it, but he doesn't drop any of it. I thought he'd dig right in and make a mess, but he took his time. It looks like he's enjoying and savoring the treat!
Fans of the @Indianapolis Zoo couldn't wait to wish Azy a happy birthday. @Sunday Allen Registe shared, "Bless his sweet heart, taking his time. Happy Birthday handsome man!" @Queen_Schug laughed, "Happy birthday Azy!! You look absolutely stunning for your age!!"
Have you ever been to the Indianapolis Zoo? There orangutan exhibit is phenomenal! It's a huge building in the middle of the zoo with a few different stories. You can see their nests and watch them climb around the outside of the building. It's an incredible way to watch these guys and my favorite thing at that zoo. If the mamas have babies, sometimes you get to watch them run around and play! Orangutans are really inquisitive and will come right up to the glass and often try to interact with you. It's a very fun experience!

Fun Animal Birthday Celebrations
Let's celebrate some other animals who had fun on their birthdays! This tortoise recently celebrated his 192nd birthday and was crowned the oldest living animal on the planet. Speaking of oldies but goodies, this Galapagos tortoise that lives at the San Diego Zoo celebrated his 139th birthday recently.
But it's not only tortoises who like to celebrate. This sea otter had a splashing good time at his birthday at the Georgia Aquarium earlier this year, and this harbor seal had a better birthday than I did this year! The world's oldest dog celebrated his 31st birthday back in May....wow! Pittsburgh Zoo celebrated the 28th birthday of a polar bear who lives there at the beginning of December, and this walrus partied it up on his 7th birthday.
I could watch these kinds of videos all day! It's so cool to see the animals' reactions to getting treat and even more attention than usual. There so fun to watch!
