Husband's Loving Reaction to Being Surprised With His Dream Dog Is a Sight to Behold

It's always worth celebrating when a new furry friend comes home for good, whether it's with someone who's planned for their arrival or who decided to adopt unexpectedly. Anyone who's willing to dedicate part of their life to caring for their pet will do a great job keeping them happy and healthy, and foster mom Janet knew that would be the case in her home.

She and her husband have been wanting a dog, and on February 17, she surprised her hubby by bringing home his dream dog—an English Cream Retriever. This light-colored Golden Retriever pup was already settling in at home with Janet when her husband walked through the door after work, and the look on his face was absolutely priceless. In fact, both his reaction and the dog's reaction are the epitome of adorable!

Aww! This affectionate dog somehow immediately knew that his dad just walked through the door. His tail started wagging immediately, and he was excitedly tippy-tapping his paws on the floor! It's no wonder why his dad wasted no time bending down to say hello to the Golden Retriever puppy, but I think most viewers got a bit misty-eyed when the puppy instinctively rolled over. Not only was he asking for belly rubs in the cutest possible way, but he was showing his submission to his people, too. When Janet said he's 'literally the sweetest pup there is," she wasn't wrong!

This English Cream Retriever matches his dad's energy completely if you ask me. One viewer even wrote, "Golden Retrievers recognize their kind," which made me giggle! Janet does seem to have a Golden Retriever husband on her hands, and it's not a mystery anymore why they're his favorite breed. They greeted one another just as excitedly as if they'd known each other for years, and I sure hope Janet is patting herself on the back.

Are English Cream Retrievers Just Golden Retrievers?

Despite the confusion and the similar, but not identical name, English Cream Retrievers are exactly the same as the Golden Retriever breed. The colors of their coats are just different! These dogs get the adjective 'English' from their recent British ancestry, though you're beginning to find more and more of these Retriever breeds in the United States, too. They are often sold and rescued as puppies due to their popularity among individuals and dog-loving families, so they can sometimes end up as targets for dog napping, too.

For this English Cream Retriever (who was later named Chewy by the foster baby) living his best life in Brooklyn, though, he can get used to not having a care in the world. With a new mom, dad, and entirely new surroundings, this rescue dog shouldn't take long to adapt at all.
