Zachery Ty Bryan

Zachery Ty Bryan, who played Tim Allen's young son on Home Improvement, has reportedly racked up a felony charge following his latest arrest.

The former actor, 42, who has had several run-ins with the police in recent years, was charged with driving under the influence with three or more priors within the last decade following his February 17 arrest for DUI, according to new legal documents obtained by TMZ.

Bryan is said to have refused to submit to a field sobriety test after he was pulled over last month, though he showed visible signs of impairment according to officers on scene and was eventually determined to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .15–almost twice the legal limit of .08. He was also reportedly involved in a hit-and-run earlier that day which resulted in property damage.

He's looking at up to three years in prison if convicted.

Bryan also faced domestic violence charges in 2020 and 2023, the first of which involved his then-girlfriend, Johnnie Faye Cartwright. He was originally arrested on charges of fourth-degree assault and strangulation but eventually pled guilty to two lesser charges: misdemeanor menacing and misdemeanor assault.

He later claimed that that arrest "got so blown out of proportion" that it "effectively shattered his public image," suggesting that it was nowhere near as physical as the police report stated.

“We didn’t even really get that physical. We got really loud. We were screaming and because we were in a townhome that had [thin walls], everybody could hear," he said.

In 2023, he was arrested on charges of felony assault after police responded to a reported physical dispute between a male and female.

Cartwright issued a statement following the new charges, pointing out that "it’s a horrible situation that’s going to be spun in so many ways."

"I’ve learned firsthand the truth will never align with what’s been put out there," she added.
