In The Idea of You, Anne Hathaway’s character Solène lives in a cozy, Craftsman-style home designed to capture her personality and creative eye as an art gallery owner. But the customization and comfortability go beyond plush seating and distinct decor. "We painted the walls to complement Hathaway's complexion,” production designer Amy Williams tells House Beautiful. “All of the paint colors were tested against her skin tone on camera prior to selection.”

While the home is meant to be a Silver Lake, California, residence, it’s portrayed by a property located in the Virginia–Highland neighborhood of Atlanta. The production team found the home on Airbnb and originally chose it for its exterior since the interiors were white, gray, and void of original details. “We spent two months renovating it to bring back the historic age and personality," Williams says.

Now, the home boasts warm white walls and painted faux wood grain trim throughout. A royal blue-painted dining room adds a pop of color. The production team also installed wood beams and completely redid the kitchen with custom wood cabinets, Craftsman-era tiles, and window panes. The best part? The home is still available to book on Airbnb, and the homeowners kept all of the updates.

Solène's home isn't the only Georgia filming location on display. The entire movie was filmed in the Southern state—from the French vacation rental to the Coachella festival grounds. You can pore over the details here.
