The Highs, Lows and Wildest Moments from the 2024 People's Choice Awards

While you'll probably never be able to vote for the Emmys, the Grammys or the Oscars, if you want to help dole out some awards to A-list celebs, the People's Choice Awards are always there for you. After a year off (the last PCAs aired in December 2022), the People's Choice Awards have returned to highlight your favorite movies, music and TV. With special awards going to Lenny Kravtiz and Adam Sandler, plus plenty of big stars in attendance, it was a big night in Hollywood.

The evening, hosted by Simu Liu, included impassioned winner speeches, entertaining jokes, and jaw-dropping red carpet looks. Of course, there were also plenty of weird, wild and unexpected things that happened as well.

High: Simu Liu's The Bear-themed opening skit

In a clever nod to the awards juggernaut The Bear, host Simu Liu opened the show with a pre-recorded skit in which he mimicked the single-shot kitchen chaos of the Jeremy Allen White show. Shouting phrases like "hands" and "corner" Liu prepared to host as numerous assistants swirled around him.

Wildest: Zaddy Cam

Early in the telecast Liu honored the zaddies in the audience with the Zaddy Cam. The cam focused on Kane Brown, Adam Sandler, Tom Hiddleston and JB Smoove providing eye-candy for those who love zaddies.

Low: Tom Hiddleston's long-winded speech

While accepting the award for Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show of the Year on behalf of Loki, Tom Hiddleston labored through a lengthy speech which listed over a dozen individuals. Perhaps he forgot that these are the People's Choice Awards and not the Emmys.

High: Jennifer Aniston honors Adam Sandler

The 2024 People Icon Award, the People's Choice lifetime achievement award went to Adam Sandler. To honor the prolific comedian, frequent collaborator Jennifer Aniston gave a gushing speech about the Sandman before a clip package of his greatest works. Sandler then gave his own speech in which he pretended to have won the People Magazine Sexiest Man Alive award.

High: Natasha Bedingfield, Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney sing "Unwritten"

Before presenting the Female Country Artist of the Year award, Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell lead the audience in a sing-a-long of "Unwritten" which played an important role in their rom-com Anyone But You. They were then joined on the stage by Natasha Bedingfield before presenting their award.

High: Lenny Kravitz performs his greatest hits

The 2024 Music Icon Award went to Lenny Kravitz. After a moving introduction from Victoria Monet, Kravtiz took to the stage to perform his hits "Fly Away," "TK421," "It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over," "Let Love Rule" and "Are You Gonna Go My Way."

Low: Predictable winners

Since the only awards given out were to people in the room, as the ceremony progressed, it became increasingly obvious who the winners would be. Jennifer Aniston, Ice Spice, Rachel Zegler and America Ferrera were clearly going to win in their categories as they were the only nominees in their categories present.

High: Kathryn Hahn introduces Kylie Minogue with a LOT of energy

Never has there been an awards show introduction with more excitement and energy than Kathryn Hahn's of Australian pop star Kylie Minogue. We can only hope to ever be introduced with such affection and flair.
