Heritage Hill home tours begin this weekend

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — This weekend, you will have the chance to check out several historic houses in the Heritage Hill neighborhood during the annual Tour of Homes.

On Saturday and Sunday, you can tour six to seven private homes in the neighborhood and one or two historic buildings. Each tour will also provide a history of the residence including information about the past owners and the architecture.

Homeowner Doug Meeks said that the neighborhood combines some of the most beautiful places in the area but also some of the best people.

“The neighborhood is amazing, the neighbors are amazing. There’s a real sense of community here,” Meeks said. “These old houses and the history that comes with them is just an amazing place to live.”

The tours also serve as a fundraiser for the Heritage Hill Association. All ticket sales proceeds go back into the neighborhood.

Each tour will be $20 if purchased ahead of time and will move to $27 if you buy them the day of. The tours will be held throughout the days from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
