Healthy Salted Caramel with Sliced Apples Recipe

image

The recipe for this healthy vegan caramel is nearly identical to the salted caramel in my bon bons (one of my all-time favs)! Thinning it out makes it a perfect dip for fruit, a decadent addition to morning oats and even a great addition to my simple apple tart.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup of medjool dates (about 10)

  • ¼ – 1/3 cup water

  • 1 – 2 tablespoons raw almond butter

  • Dash of pure vanilla extract

  • Pinch of Himalayan sea salt

METHOD

Blend all ingredients together until well combined. Start with less water and add until your reach your desired consistency. If the dates are not soft, soak in warm water for 10 minutes prior to blending and use that water to blend. Enjoy with sliced apples!
