Gundam is on the verge of making it big in the West, after decades of popularity in Japan. Part of that push has been increased availability of Gundam model kits – commonly called Gunpla – and Gundam anime series coming to streaming services like Netflix. Now, Gundam is hitting the road in the US, and you could win some free stuff if you’re lucky.

Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America has announced the Gundam Base Mobile USA Tour, where a caravan kitted out with all sorts of Gundam goodies will be touring the US and hosting events. Bandai Namco says that fans will be able to participate in Gunpla workshops, purchase exclusive model kits not found anywhere else, play video games, and more.

There will also, apparently, be giveaways, though the company doesn’t elaborate on these — just know that if you turn up to one of these events, you may be able to score yourself something cool. Maybe it’s a model kit, maybe it’s an actual real-life Gundam robot, there’s just no way of knowing for sure.

The tour will kick off in Las Vegas from tomorrow, November 16, at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, where an Italian racing team put Gundam on an F1 car. After that, we’re not really sure where the Gundam-mobile will head next — full stops and dates have not yet been announced.

We do know where its journey will come to an end though. Bandai Namco says that the final stop in the tour will be in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center between January 5 and January 7, 2024. Those unable to make it to an event aren’t entirely out of luck either — some new model kits will be available on the event’s official website too, where you can also find tour dates when they become available.

The event comes after it was revealed that one of Gundam’s most popular anime series is making a return, with a spinoff film based on Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans.
