GT Bicycles Issues Immediate Recall On 'LaBomba' Dirt Jumpers

The news has come down from GT Bicycles that owners of any LaBomba dirt jumpers made between the years of 2019 and 2023 need to take them to their local dealer for an immediate warranty recall.

This news comes shortly after Cannondale, which is under the same corporate umbrella as GT, announced a recall of their popular Dave dirt jumper frame. Take a look at the announcement below.

The issue GT is recalling the LaBomba for is the same as the Dave, the steertube welds have been prone to fail which can result in the front end of the bike breaking off. These bikes are all but exactly the same as the Dave and were likely made in the same factory which explains the parallels here.

GT urges owners to take their LaBombas in immediately and state that the warranty replacement will cost them nothing. So, instead of risking your life at the local dirt jump spot, go get yourself a new frame.
