Great Plains Nature Center hosts spring work day

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Great Plains Nature Center hosted a spring work day over the weekend.

It was from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at Chisolm Creek Park.

Staff and volunteers cleaned up the trails to prepare the Park for the warmer seasons ahead.

“Any time you’re out here on the trails, we want it to look beautiful not only for us but for the animals that live out here as well,” said Darah Jewell, the event coordinator for the Great Plains Nature Center. “So we want to make sure that we’re taking care of their space, and by picking up even little pieces of trash and leaving no trace is actually the most important thing we can do for the environment.”

This is an annual event.
