There are perfectly good celebrity style moments, and then there are the looks that really stick with you, the ones you try desperately to recreate at home. In 'Great Outfits in Fashion History,' Fashionista editors are revisiting their all-time favorite lewks.

Whether she's an "Alien Superstar" in futuristic silver or a Texan cowboy in "solargenic" boots and spurs, Beyoncé always finds herself as the diamond of the season. Such was the case when she made her Met Gala debut only a month after her wedding in 2008.

Styled by Ty Hunter, she interpreted the "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy" theme in a blush pink strapless Armani Privé gown. Perhaps she was channeling less Superman and more Clark Kent in the gown, which boasted a small train and dainty ribbon detailing that swirled down the front.

"It was light and airy," Hunter told Business Insider about the dress. "We were at a phase where everything was for performing: rhinestones, glittery, shiny. So to just tone it down and have simplicity that was still beautiful and elegant — I loved it. It was timeless."

She went bolder with her accessories: a sparkly black bow-shaped clutch, emerald earrings and a matching pink ring-and-bracelet combo. With her hair pulled back into a low bun, Beyoncé's glam shimmered with metallic gold eyeshadow, paired with dark eyeliner and pink lipstick.
