GMFS Children’s Center SWMO!
It’s Child Abuse Awareness month and Abby Edwards with the Children’s Center of Southwest MO came on the show to talk about the resources provided by the Children’s Center. The Children’s Center is committed to provide quality care in responding to child abuse by uniting professionals and those children in need to find hope and healing. As a nationally accredited Child Advocacy Center, they provide three critical services such as forensic interviews, sexual assault forensic exams/child at risk exams, and trauma focused therapies, and their interviews and medical exams are conducted by specially trained professionals. Their trauma focused clinical therapy program provides a variety of delivery methods to give children the coping skills needed to reframe their trauma and overcome their abuse.
