Girl Scouts Just Discontinued a Fan-Favorite Cookie
Sometimes, that's just how the cookie crumbles.
Girl Scout Cookie lovers might be disappointed in the cookie varieties this upcoming season, as a major flavor has just been kicked off the shelves.
The Girl Scouts of the USA confirmed this week that the popular Raspberry Rally cookies will sadly not be returning for the upcoming cookie season.
"Last year, Raspberry Rally cookies were introduced as part of a pilot online-only sales strategy," a Girl Scouts spokesperson told TODAY.com "This was a fun and new way to teach girls omnichannel business skills and expand our cookie portfolio by introducing an exciting new flavor profile to the Girl Scout Cookie Program."
While noting that the Raspberry Rally variety was "extremely popular last year," the Girl Scouts will be "taking a pause this season to prioritize supplying our classic varieties."
Fortunately, cookie fanatics will still be able to get their hands on the rest of the flavors from the usual lineup, which includes the beloved Thin Mints, Samoas, Do-si-Dos and more.
However, consumers can expect to dig a little deeper in their pockets for the cost of the prized Girl Scout Cookies, which are expected to go up in price for the coming season.
As Parade reported, the price of cookies will be going from $5 a box to $6 "in order to combat rising production and material costs," according to the Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson New York State chapter.
"We expect our neighboring councils to announce similar increases in the coming weeks and months," said the chapter's interim CEO.

The cookie supplier, Little Brownie Bakers, and the Girl Scouts chapter "are not immune to inflation," the CEO added, noting that "costs have risen for all aspects of the business."
Despite undergoing a few changes, the official Girl Scout Cookie season isn't far away, and consumers will be able to fill their cookie jars from January through April 2024.
