Halle Berry epitomizes timeless, flawless, ageless beauty, and last night at the MTV Movie Awards, she was in glam mode. The 49-year-old actress kept her caramel hair natural and beachy with a hit of volume from hairstylist Brant Mayfield, using Shu Uemura and T3 Micro products. And from there it was all skin, from her tummy-baring gown to her glowing complexion.

“To go along with Halle’s sexy tousled hair, I went with a smoky, smudged eye look, glowing fresh skin, and accented her eyes with a soft intensity and definition with lots of mascara, blended shadowing and liner,” said makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua. She used Chanel and Revlon products and kept colors nude and neutral. Bua started by using La Solution 10 de Chanel and Chanel Hydra Beauty Flash Balm to create the perfect base. She kept foundation and concealer light, using Revlon ColorStay 2-in-1 Compact Makeup and Concealer in Caramel, and mattified with Chanel Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Natural. No contour necessary, just strobing with Revlon Highlighting Palette in Rose Glow on the orbital bone, lid, brow bone, shoulders, and collarbones for a subtle glow. Bua then brightened up Halle’s cheeks with Chanel Blush Harmony in Sunkiss Ribbon on the apples.

This look is all about intense eyes, but neutral tones mean you can’t go wrong. Bua used taupe shades from the Revlon ColorStay Not Just Nudes Palette in Passionate Nudes on the lid and crease. Revlon ColorStay Skinny Liquid Liner in Blackout was used along the upper lash line followed by Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Charcoal on the outer corners of the upper and lower lids. She achieved the smoky effect using Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Black on the lower lash line and waterline, layered with brown shades from the palette to set and smudge. She finished off the eye with two coats of Revlon Ultimate All-In-One Mascara in Blackest Black on the upper and lower lashes. The final touch was a neutral lip to balance the eye, using Chanel Lip Precision Lip Definer in Beige Satin followed by Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo in Script. Yes, it’s possible to be neutral and sultry – case in point.
