Furry Friends: Ratchet is searching for his new home

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) —  Each week WFXR News highlights adoptable pets filling up animal shelters across Southwest and Central Virginia.

This week, on Tuesday, Apr. 30, Kari Grisetti with the Franklin County Animal Shelter introduced Ratchet to Furry Friends!

This eight-year-old may be a little shy at first, but he’s a total lovebug once he sniffs you over! Ratchet has an easygoing and affectionate personality. He loves going on car rides and does well on a leash.

Tick season is here: Here’s how to protect yourself and your pets

Ratchet gets along with calmer dogs and has cat-tested well. Due to his timid demeanor, Ratchet would do best with a confident dog owner. All he wants is a chill place to call his forever home.

Ratchet’s adoption is sponsored, so he’s all ready to go!

If you’re interested in adopting Ratchet, the Franklin County Animal Shelter is located at 81 State Street in Rocky Mount. The shelter is closed on Sundays and Mondays. It’s open from noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon to 4 p.m. on Fridays and Wednesdays, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
