Furry Creature Spotted Roaming The Slopes Of Utah Ski Area

Alta Ski Area, Utah, isn't just home to skiers and snowboarders.

Other smaller, furrier creatures frequent the slopes, as evidenced by this video from local videographer Tony Korologos.

I'm glad Tony threw a "porcupine" hashtag in there because before I spotted said hashtag, I was craning my neck, thinking, what the heck is that? A walking dish rag?

And that would've left me in an awkward position where I'd have to send the video to someone less of a dullard than me, only for them to reply: "Ian. That's obviously a porcupine." So, thanks for saving me the embarrassment, Tony.

The porcupine in this video was probably a North American Porcupine, a species common throughout Utah. As for the porcupine's reasoning behind the Alta appearance—it's tough to say; I'm not a wildlife biologist or a mind reader.

Maybe they wanted a porcupine-sized Alta bomb, which could've been a fruitful quest as long as the porcupine isn't a snowboarder (Alta allows porcupines but not snowboarders). Or, they were interested in asking skiers about those BOA boots that are all the rage these days—porcupines need to lock those forefoots in, too, right?

Either possibility seems likely to me.
