California Ski Lift Operator Captures Stunning Sunrise Inversion Above The Clouds

Vincent, the man behind the camera who lives in the gondola station atop Mammoth Mountain in California, is back with another banger of an image he captured due to his exposed living situation.

The video shows an inversion. caused by the recent storm (which also brought, you guessed it... powder)!

Vincent wrote, "Hey y’all this morning after the storm on top of Mammoth Mountain….AWESOME!!!!….Y’all STAY SAFE"

The storm in question brought almost a foot of fresh pow to Mammoth, and now Mammoth has a base depth of 20 inches, with a new inch of snow today, 5 inches over the last 2 days, and 9 inches over the last 3 days.

The Mammoth Snowman Report announced that "1-2 inches of snow fell overnight from the Main Lodge up to the top, storm totals are now in the 10-14 inch range with a lot of that new being low ratio base."

The blog also announced that "the new snow that has fallen is the heavy wet base snow that will help the mountain crews to open more lifts and runs over the next couple of days. Chair 12 will be the 1st addition and is expected to run today. The open groomers should be in great shape now with some fun machine-groomed fresh snow and no more little floater rocks from the Mill up."

Mammoth Lodge has a season total of 26 inches.

There are 48 out of 176 trails open, 9 out of 24 lifts open, 3 out of 6 parks open, and 33 trails groomed.

What are you waiting for? The roads are open! Get after it!
