Raccoons are known for their clever and curious nature, and rescue raccoons that have grown up with dogs may exhibit some behaviors that are influenced by their canine companions.

As TikToker Sadie Eversole captured in this video posted on September 23 of her rescued raccoon playing with her dogs, like he's one of them, let's see for ourselves!

This is too cute!

Meet Rocket, the rescued raccoon who thinks he's a dog! Because he lives with Ally, the German Shepherd!

As you can see in the video, Rocket engages in playful antics, chasing after Ally's puppies, rolling around, and even trying to mimic their movements. The puppies, in turn, also respond with excitement, wagging their tails and frolicking with their raccoon companion.

Especially that one puppy is obsessed with Rocket, and Rocket is obsessed with it too.

As you may know, early socialization of dogs with other animals, including raccoons, can increase the chances of them getting along.

I mean, raccoons are fairly similar to dogs, although they are technically wild animals with their own instincts, behaviors, and needs. However, if they grew up in a household filled with dogs, of course, they're going to mimic that behavior because that's all they know.

Especially young raccoons are known to be highly adaptable and can form bonds with other animals, including dogs if they are exposed to them during a critical period of development. This is sometimes referred to as "imprinting," which can help raccoons learn from their environment and companions. They might pick up certain behaviors from dogs, like coming when called or using their paws for manipulation.

Aw, it seems as if raccoons make great pets.

(Not me thinking of adopting one.)
