This Fresno pet store is giving away food for foster dogs

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Fresno pet store is giving dog food to local non-profit after management read about the tireless efforts of one man trying to rescue as many dogs as he could.

Whities Pets has been in Fresno for nearly a century; according to manager Kaylyn Harrison, their donations are just a part of giving back to the community.

Fostering dogs and cats has become more and more common as shelters continue to see high levels of animals. Valley Fosters is a local non-profit dedicated to fostering animals and getting them off the street. The non-profit is run by Jeremy Provencio.

Whities Pets’ most recent way of giving back was by helping Valley Fosters and donating more than a dozen bags of pet food.

Harrison, who has fostered animals as well, says any way to cut costs when taking care of animals is always helpful due to the potentially overwhelming costs that come with animal care.
