Disney dropped The Bikeriders from its slate, but it had no trouble finding a new home as Focus Features quickly snapped up the worldwide rights.

Initially set for a December 1 release, the decision was made to postpone it due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes. The studios are now plotting a new strategy, eyeing a 2024 release.

Variety reports that New Regency made the decision to shop the film around studios and streamers, not Disney.

Peter Kujawski, Chairman at Focus Features, said, "We look forward to once again working alongside New Regency and reuniting with the multi-talented Jeff Nichols on another one of his visionary projects. This film exemplifies our commitment to collaborate with the industry's best filmmakers and production partners, and we can't wait to build upon its early success to draw audiences into this poignant film bolstered by powerful performances from an incredible cast".
