Fuecoco Pokemon anime

The Pokémon Company held a massive Pokémon Presents livestream yesterday, with 35 minutes of new and expanded information about just about everything Pokémon. It was truly a feast for Pokémon fans… but not everything was interesting.

Among the new announcements for main series games and the return of some fan-favorite classics was a huge chunk of content for mobile games – Pokémon Sleep, Go, and Unite – which might not have been the most compelling. Thankfully, we watched the entire thing, and we’ve put together this list of the best five things you missed in the latest Pokémon presents.

Trading Card Game and Pokémon Stadium 2 on NSO

Pokémon Trading Card Game for the Game Boy Color has long been a fan favorite game, with players adoring the card battler RPG for its story and a surprisingly good translation of TCG mechanics. Now, it’s available on the Switch through the Nintendo Switch Online retro offerings, alongside another fan fave — Pokémon Stadium 2. Both of these games were announced ages back, but they’ve now finally released, and both support online play, which is great.

Get Mew and Mewtwo event

The Pokémon Company announced a big event coming to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, very appropriately called Get Mew and Mewtwo. As you might expect, this allows you to get Mew and Mewtwo. Mew is available through a Mystery Gift code now, while Mewtwo will be appearing in 7-star Tera raids starting in September.

Scarlet and Violet DLC release date

There are two expansions for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet on the way, and we finally got heaps of new details for them both, and a release date for the first one. The first DLC, The Teal Mask, will have players taking a trip to the relaxed countryside town of Kitakami to learn the myth behind the Summer festival. The Teal Mask will be available on September 13, 2023, with the following DLC, the Indigo Disk, coming later in the year.

Two new animated Pokémon projects

There are two new animated Pokémon projects on the way, and both of them are coming pretty soon. One is an animated short about a young girl finding fun and friendship in the Pokémon TCG — it’s called Path to the Peak, and it’ll be released on YouTube this weekend. The other is an animated web series called Paldean Winds, which follows a group of students finding their place in the world in the Treasure Hunt, which sounds like it’s close to the games’ plot. That one will start on September 6.

Four brand-new Pokémon revealed

Four new Pokémon – the creatures, not the games – were revealed during the presentation too. There’s an evolution for Applin called Dipplin, an evolution for Duraludon called Archaludon, and two new Paradox Pokémon — Raging Bolt and Iron Crown. All of these Pokémon will become available in Scarlet and Violet’s expansions.
