First on the Mother's Day must-do list: Make that reservation for brunch in Brevard

If the question posed by Gandhi — “It may be possible to gild pure gold, but who can make his mother more beautiful?” — is true, how do you pay tribute to such a woman?

You can start by taking her out to dinner this May 12.

That will be Mother’s Day, of course, when restaurants will be filled with families out to celebrate mothers, grandmothers, aunts and others — and as always, the word to the wise is “Reserve early.”

That’s especially true for the Brevard Zoo, which will add Mother’s Day to its list of holiday brunches, this time, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Nyami Nyami Lodge.

“Ambassador animals” will visit and take part in a Mother’s Day-themed educational scavenger hunt before a brunch buffet will be served, and one drink ticket for a beer, wine or mimosa will be included for each adult guest, who also will be able to purchase additional drinks.

Vegan options are available.

Furthermore, moms will be given free admission to the zoo on their day, when accompanied by a paying child of any age.

Costs are $50 per adult, $45 per child (3 to 11 years old), with $5 for zoo members.

Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance. Call 321-254-9453. https://brevardzoo.org
