Growing up with a mother who bakes, you learn a lot. You memorize easy conversions (when you can’t find your tablespoon, three teaspoons will do the trick), you quickly learn that baking soda and baking powder are not the same thing, and you learn that investing in good bakeware can make all the difference in your final product.

When I first moved out on my own, bakeware wasn’t at the top of my “to buy” list, even though I do love to whip up a sweet treat every now and again thanks to my momma. And when I did finally pick up some pieces, namely a baking sheet, a muffin pan, and a loaf pan, let’s just say they left more to be desired. Recently, I decided it was time to seriously up my bakeware game. I wanted to start from scratch with a complete set that was going to last, so I knew I had to get the one set I had been eyeing for a minute: the Ninja Neverstick 10-Piece Bakeware set.

Why I Love the Ninja NeverStick 10-Piece Bakeware Set

When this set arrived, I couldn’t wait to test it out. But before I did, I gathered all of my beat-up, mismatched bakeware and popped in the recycling bin — I’ve never been so glad to take out the trash. As I unwrapped the first piece, I was immediately struck by the coating. These pans feel buttery to the touch, which had me more than excited to test out the “never stick” claims. As I took a step back and looked at the full collection, I was impressed by how much you get for the price, and beyond eager to get baking.

The first thing I knew I had to make was a batch of lemon blueberry muffins. After making the matter (and giving the muffin tin a quick wash) I decided to do something I never do when making muffins: I nixed the liners. In my experience, making muffins or cupcakes without a liner is just asking for disaster, but if I was going to test out those nonstick claims, I had to go full force. Imagine my surprise when, after cooling, I was able to pop out each muffin with ease. And not only that, every burnt bit of blueberry that has oozed onto the surface of the tin came off with a quick pull. There I was, standing in my kitchen doing my worst Owen Wilson impression, repeatedly saying, “WOW!”

The next couple of tests, I decided to do the same thing and skip any prep to see if each piece really was as nonstick as it claimed. My banana bread? Popped out with ease. The corn casserole I made for a family get-together? Not a bit stuck to the bottom of the baking pan. And the multiple batches of delicate heart-shaped cookies I made for Galetine’s day? Not one was destroyed upon removal. Reader, these pans are the real deal.

Coming in at $180, the Ninja NeverStick 10-Piece Bakeware set is a must for anyone serious about their nonstick bakeware. So whether you’re starting from scratch or looking for an upgrade, you won’t be disappointed in this set. In fact, I think I know what I’m getting my mom for Mother’s Day.
