‘Filling in Hole to Become Whole’ summit provides local mental health resources

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR)– Community members in Lynchburg gathered at the Jubilee Family Health Center off Florida Ave to address mental health during the ‘Filling the Hole to Become Whole’ summit on Saturday, May 18.

The event’s organizer and chair, Crystal Strange, brought the summit to Lynchburg for the first time to create a safe space to share mental health resources, encourage people to get help, and address stigma. Community members who attended the event learned from what experts shared and were able to connect with others who are on a similar journey to wholeness.

“It is part of our ability to be socially emotionally spiritually well to be able to interact in the community to be able to be productive citizens and to ultimately be able to be a well-being,” said Strange to WFXR.

Along with gaining access to mental health resources, the event also featured an informative play, break-out sessions, a panel discussion, and workshops all focused on improving mental health and well-being.
