Feral Sewer Cat Finally Gets a Forever Home After 4 Long Years

Anyone who has ever tried to trap and befriend a feral cat can tell you that it can be a very long process. One person who has done just that had been caring for cat colonies outside and one cat, who had been living in and out of a sewer for the last four years, finally warmed up enough where he was able to be lured inside to his forever home.

The touching video, posted by the TikTok account @therescueandtheferal, has people all up in their feelings.

@Llavanda comments, "Thank you for your patience and never giving up. Been there. Some are wise to the trap. Eventually..." @Wendy adds, "Congratulations Gus on your new forever home inside." @Tami says, "It takes a while to befriend a feral. He's beautiful."

Gus had been known to these kind people since he was born as a kitten and he just recently became less afraid so they were able to save him. Thank goodness they were able to get him inside before the water turned too cold!

The account posted a sweet but sad video of Gus on his first night inside.

With any outdoor cat not used to having a home where they are safe and warm inside, it just takes time. It's a whole new world for them to get used to with new people, new smells, new sounds. Gus just needs time to adjust and the fact that he is secure enough to purr is such a good sign! Any day he'll be walking around like he owns the place!
