'A fashionable place': Palm Beach golf, tennis, marina facilities offer merchandise lines

Palm Beachers who want to represent their town through fashion as well as visitors seeking to snag souvenirs of their stay on the island now have a new shopping outlet.

The town-owned marina has launched a line of branded apparel and accessories through a new online store, joining the Par 3 golf course and Seaview and Phipps Ocean Park tennis centers, which sell branded merchandise at their pro shops.

The golf course, at  2345 S. Ocean Blvd., also has an online store where it offers a variety of accessories and apparel for men and women.

“Palm Beach has always been a fashionable place, from its founding over a century ago to today," Carolyn Stone, deputy town manager for Business Enterprise & Culture, told the Daily News.

The nearly 3-year-old town marina joined the fashion fray in February, launching a line of branded apparel and accessories that includes polos, long-sleeved athletic shirts, belts, hats, umbrellas, keychains and playing cards. All items feature the marina's nautical-inspired red, white and blue logo.

Prices range from a $10 deck of playing cards to a $70 men's button-down fishing shirt.

“We are excited to launch the new Town of Palm Beach Marina-branded apparel and accessories line," Stone told the Daily News. "For those who dock with us, or for those who want an elegant seafaring accent to their wardrobe and other items, our just-launched marina shopping page is the place to go.”

The town, which operates the $38 million marina facility, decided to launch a clothing and accessories line in an effort to further engage with residents and visitors, said Brandi Murphy, marketing and public relations director for Jacober Creative, which handles marina marketing for the town.

The marina, which reopened in November 2021 after a 17-month renovation, remains a huge draw for boaters from around the country and overseas, the town said.

"We wanted to offer a unique opportunity for individuals to stay connected with and take a piece of the marina experience with them wherever they go," Murphy said. "This collection allows us to highlight the yachting lifestyle and reinforce our position as a premier destination."

The marina's apparel and accessories line is a perfect fit for those who enjoy cruising on their yachts or spending time on the island, said Mike Horn, the marina's manager.

The marina is just minutes from Worth Avenue, the iconic shopping and dining district featuring an array of luxury boutiques, exploring and al fresco dining.

“As someone who has spent years on and near the water as part of my work, and for fun, I really appreciate the nautical style of the new marina clothing and other things that you can buy on our site," Horn said. "They are perfect for cruising on your yacht and even for a jaunt on our island town of Palm Beach.”

Business has been steady since the marina launched its new online store, Murphy said, and there has been an uptick in sales as the summer season approaches.

Jacober and the town are working on developing new digital content to drive added exposure to the collection, she added. Marina team members who wear the apparel also help to promote the line.

Shoppers can purchase items through the marina's online store, but the town said it would consider incorporating a physical store at the marina at a later date.

Future plans for the apparel and accessories line also include the introduction of new silhouettes, styles and seasonally relevant accessories that embody the Palm Beach lifestyle, Murphy said.
