Mario Lopez

Mario Lopez isn't letting the beginnings of a black eye keep him from getting things done.

The entertainment host got knocked around during a recent jiu-jitsu match (if his Instagram hashtags are anything to go by), but the obvious swelling and assumed pain were no match for his to-do list.

In a series of photos uploaded to the social media platform on Tuesday, Dec. 5, Lopez showed off what appeared to be the immediate aftermath of the hit to the face, as he posed, covered in sweat, in front of a gymnasium wall covered in red mats.

His cheek was discolored a bright red, as was the upper lid of his eye. Underneath the bottom lid, swelling seemed to already have set in.

But the third photo showed Lopez looking nearly unmarred in a photo from the set of Access Daily, where he threw his arm over the day's guest: A Christmas Story's Peter Billingsley. While he still had some visible swelling around the eye, the color perfectly matched the rest of his skin.

"Eye was busted this morning but a little makeup magic & just like that…We’re back on TV!" he wrote alongside the photoset.

There were plenty of jokes to be made, given his guest.

"I know you were meeting with @officialpeterb but you weren't supposed to take the 'you'll shoot your eye out' seriously," one fan wrote in the comments, adding, "Heal up."

"Did you shoot your eye out?!😂," another asked.

Most were fixated on the impressive work of his makeup artist, with one suggesting it "deserves an Emmy!"

"What??!!! Nice cover-up!! 👏👏," someone else complimented, while another said they "need a tutorial" from whoever had done the work, and someone else asked for the brand.

"You Definitely a A1!!" someone else complimented the actor. "I would have called out sick!!😂😂."

"Wow! Work ethic on display!" another said, impressed.

We can't say we'd be so willing to appear on camera after that shiner, either!
