Pat Sajak

Another day, another Wheel of Fortune contestant making a wild guess that has viewers laughing at them, not with them.

Contestant Gishma, who recently got engaged and celebrated with a Disney-themed bridal shower (this is relevant, kind of), baffled fans with her imaginative guess during the Tuesday, Dec. 12 episode of the long-running game show.

The category was "Show Biz" and the three-word puzzle read: “TH_’ _RITI_S’ ‘_GR_E."

Gishma must've had Shrek on the brain, as she confidently chimed in with, "The British Ogre."

The show's host, Pat Sajak, asked her to repeat her answer, maybe in hopes that he had misheard Gishma's statement. But, nope. Sajak, 77, did hear correctly the first time.

"Uh, no," he replied, as Gishma's rival Laura interjected, going on to relay the correct answer, which was "The Critics Agree."

Ironically enough, the online critics did agree that this was one of the most hilarious blunders to-date–well, at least since another contestant was slammed for their "epic fail" in September.

"This girl guessed 'The British Ogre' on Wheel of Fortune, and the second-hand embarrassment was overwhelming," one X (formerly Twitter) user wrote. "She wouldn’t even look at the camera for a sec I feel bad but man that...was funny."

"This woman just guessed this puzzle as The British Ogre dying laughing so many British Ogres in show biz," another quipped.

A third mocked the guess, writing, "Oi, you best be off my swamp, mate, before I get properly cheesed off!” -The British Ogre."

"This show never fails to LOL with contestants," someone else shared.

"The British Ogre sounds like a cool band name," joked one more.

A different post read, "To be honest I prefer THE BRITISH OGRE because the puzzles could use some more wacky originality sometimes."

Though Sajak already announced his plans for retirement after this season, he's surely going to miss the free laughs–and of course, working with co-star Vanna White.
