A new trailer for Amazon Prime’s Fallout TV series has been released, and it’s as perfect as any Fallout adaptation could have been. Following on the heels of the first teaser, the official trailer gives us more information about the world of the show, along with an idea about how many elements from the games are carrying over.

At the time of writing, the trailer has already crossed over 5.7 million views on YouTube, with most of the audience’s sentiment being positive. That’s a good sign, as many video game adaptations have failed miserably in the past. Of course, in recent years we’ve seen that trend decline, with adaptations of The Last of Us, Uncharted, Sonic, Pokémon, and more received positively.

Watch the trailer below:

The Fallout series was created by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner, with Westworld creator Jonathan Nolan taking on the producing duties. Nolan also directs the first three episodes of the series. Bethesda Game Studios' director Todd Howard also serves as an executive producer. The show stars Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Aaron Moten, Moisés Arias, Kyle MacLachlan, and more.

The story of the show follows Lucy (Ella Purnell), a vault-dweller who must traverse the apocalyptic landscape to rescue her father. Along the way, she will meet a colorful cast of characters, all inspired by Bethesda's video games, including Walton Goggin's Ghoul and Aaron Moten as Maximus. The trailer gives us a first glimpse at Sarita Choudhury as Moldaver and Dale Dickey as Ma June.

Amazon also released a new poster for the series, putting the focus on its leads. Check it out below:

Telling an original story that's also canon to the franchise, the show will also touch on the origins of the series' mascot Vault Boy. There are also plans to expand the universe with multiple seasons, provided the first one's a success.

To celebrate the trailer's release, Amazon Prime is also giving away a free copy of Fallout 2 on its Prime Gaming app. You can redeem the code for the game on GOG after claiming it from the Prime Gaming website.
